Weddings {end of the season}

As I wrap up the 2010 wedding season I wanted to give a quick shout out to my good friend, Jessica Quist Benes. Jessica and I have been working together for the past 4 summers now.  I am Jessica’s second shooter for her company ‘Jessica Quist Photography‘ in which I highly recommend you checking her work out.  Both Jessica and I graduated from Columbia College (few years apart) and found one another in Milwaukee.  She has been running her own photo business for some time now, and I had the pleasure of jumping on the band wagon and assisting her for the past couple of years.  While shooting with her we have taught one another so much…mainly me learning from her.

Here are a few shots I have taken while working with JQ.

My Love & I {Seattle}

On October 19th my husband and I celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary in Seattle.  I wanted to share our adventures in a very special Blog dedicated to the love of my life!

One of the reasons we choose to visit Seattle for our Anniversary is because we have been playing around with the idea of moving there- or to the east coast (to be closer to my family).

I must say that the planning of the next step of our lives together has been filled with curiosity and excitement.  So, we took the opportunity of celebrating our anniversary  in a city we love, called Seattle.  :-)During our short visit we enjoyed the many lovely qualities this city has to offer, including their beautiful homes.

What you will also notice from these photo’s is that we did some major exploring, lots of eating, and kissing.

Seriously, what more could a girl ask for  while celebrating her anniversary with her best friend?
After getting checked into  ‘The Maxwell Hotel’ we didn’t waste any time venturing into Queen Anne for some yummy food.  Where we found this amazing Mexican restaurant called Pesos.  We then proceeded to eat way too much food for our first meal in the city – and continued that trend at every restaurant we visited during our stay.After we stuffed ourselves with cheese enchiladas and chips, we thought it was a good idea to go for a walk.

This is when our adventures began, and didn’t end till we left the city 5 days later.Before we new it – it was already night time!

I had to post a few images of the house we fell in love with!  We saw 20 +  houses, but this one took the cake.  If we really decide to move to Seattle, I hope this is the house we live in.  It is full of windows, a great yard (for our dog), and plenty of space for family to visit and stay with us.  :-)

After a full day of looking at homes we made sure to spend the next day enjoying Seattle like things, like visiting Gas Works Park.So, I heard all these rumors about these ‘cupcake shops’ that are in the city…and it sounded too good to be true (b/c i <3 cupcakes).  And it turns out that people were in fact telling the truth.  With that being said, we stopped at Trophy cupcakes and got a box of cupcakes to enjoy by the Lake. Around sunset we ventured to Golden Gardens.  It was the first time that either of us have been there, and we were so pleased that we took the time to explore it.  To top off all the amazing views and boat docks, the beach grounds allow people to make fire pits and hang out at night- too neat!  I did my best to document this place just by using my iphone because it was slightly misty out (didn’t wanna get my camera wet).Our last full day in Seattle went rather fast.  The morning consisted of us house hunting, coffee drinking, and donut eating.  The evening ended with us seeing a burlesque show at the Can*Can in Pike Place.  Very entertaining I must say.  After the show we enjoyed some late night pizza and walked around the city.  The said our goodbyes!

Then there was lift off!  Till we meet again, Seattle.

Stella Bella!

Earlier this week I had the opportunity to hang out with two of my favorite girls, Jess & Stella (mother and daughter).  During this particular hang out, I had a mini photo shoot with Stella… which pretty much consisted of me running around and following while Stella explored the world.

Knowing that Stella is a kid that likes to be on the move, we walked to a local park and let her run around a bit, playing witness to the fact that this little girl doesn’t miss a beat.  She is an explorer!!  Every little thing that she see’s, she has to pick up and examine.  You can tell she gets this feeling of ease when she is outside.  She absolutely loves it!  So, while she was doing her thing, I was doing mine (trying to capture every little cute thing she did).

But in all honesty, Stella is one of the most captivating kids (in addition to my own niece and nephews, of course) I know.  I truly feel that my life has been enriched by knowing Stella, as well as her wonderful parents.   I am so blessed to know such wonderful people.

With all that being said, here are a few photo’s showing what it’s like to follow around this awesome 1+year old.At this point, Stella was completely done with being at the park.  I was trying to get one last shot of her in the grass with the trees behind her.  And as you can see in the bellow photo’s- her smile has worn off.  She was so tired at this point, and just wanted to go back in her stroller, and head home.

Jamie & Rorey {wedding}

On September 18th my husband and I had the pleasure of photographing our friends wedding on a perfect afternoon filled with green leaves and blue skies.  It was such a delight to be apart of Jamie and Rorey’s wedding day.  They had their ceremony and reception at the beautiful Cedar Beach Inn (a simple and quaint location) in Belgium, WI.

This wedding was filled with so much love and personal detail.  From the choice of flowers to the parting wedding gift (maple syrup) stemmed from details of themselves.  My husband and myself could not be more thankful for being apart of their special day with them.

Steff Bomb!

So, recently my good friend Steff Bomb hired me to do some headshots for her feature on the front page of Etsy!  Steff makes amazingly adorable plush toys that would melt the heart of any bearded man. If you’ve ever met her boyfriend, you would know that to be true.;)You should check out her work (and buy it), which you can do by going HERE.

Here are a few choice shots from the shoot! ENJOY!
