Cheap Eats {seattle magazine}

Excited to have landed my second cover for Seattle Magazine!  This issue was focused on ‘Cheap Eats‘ plus healthy choices in the Seattle area.  I really enjoyed shooting for this article because I feel that everyone can relate to the feeling of just wanting a solid meal, but at a reasonable price. Seattle is full of amazing restaurants- but a pretty price tag is usually attached.  Shooting the January issue provided me with a new list of restaurants to return to and enjoy meals from $3 up to $15.  And let me tell you, I had the chance to sample some of these fine dishes, and they are delicious.

I would highly recommend you check them out, as well as the January Issue!

Wine Country Getaways {seattle magazine cover story}

I want to take a few minuets to really share how important this blog posting is to me.  And also thank my best friend for reminding me of my journey, dreams, and wishes for my career.  When planning to relocate to Seattle I spend some time researching magazine in my soon to be new city.  I would visit Seattlemagazine.com quite often and wish that I could get an in with them.  And now I am sitting here writing a blog for the cover story that I was assigned to document the October issue.  I have had several images published in the past, in random magazines, but I am beyond honored to share my first cover image for a fantastic magazine.  Thank you Seattle Magazine for this wonderful experience and hiring me to photograph the ‘Wine Country Getaway‘ story.

I split my week up into two halves and drove all over Eastern Washington photographing.  My dream job scenario.

Brian Mackey- “America” {music video}

Once again Nick Cavalier and I came together to work with artist, Brian Mackey on his most recent music video.  I flew into New Jersey this past July where shooting began.  The concept of the video was pretty straight forward…America.  What images come to mind when you think of America?  We wanted to capture imagery that went along with Brian’s lyrics and the journey many musician’s take while traveling on the road.  Nick and I documented along the way to Nashville, TN where the final shooting took place.  This blog includes images I took from our itinerary and the behind scenes of the the music video, “America”.

Without fail, there will be some documentation of me on the ground shooting.  Thanks Nick !

Also, enjoy the video here:

Price Family { South Carolina }

To continue with birthday adventures, Joel and I flew to South Carolina to visit our friends and meet their new baby, Nova.

Seeing Jess, my best friend, was so needed.  We had spent a many days sitting in her old home drinking tea and eating brownies while chatting about life.  I miss that so much!  I absolutely love her & her family.

It was so nice to spend time with old friends, just relax, and let the day(s) come as they will.   Trip was low key and sadly flew by too quickly!  But I am thankful for the time we did get to catch up and relax with our very good friends.

 We spent the last few hours at this beautiful park where I took advantage of the scenery and this beautiful family by getting some family portraits.

This is the Price Family~

Thanks to Ryan, I have a few images with Joel and the kids too.  Back in Milwaukee I would see Stella often, and was a part of her childhood- It does sadden me that I will be missing that with Nova, but I am so happy we had this chance to meet her, and see Stella, make new memories and enjoy the Price Family.  They are much missed since we do not live in the same city anymore.  Coming back to the house, we finished packing up and enjoyed the patio…of course I snuck a few more photo’s in there too.Till next time… You will all be missed. Love you guys

7 wonders of Oregon {bday adventures}

The start of my day.                                                                                                            The end of my day.

My 32nd birthday was celebrated in various places in Oregon.  It sounds funny, but those commercials encouraging people to explore The 7 Wonders of Oregon inspired me to do jus that! So, my husband did some planning  and we narrowed down where in Oregon we were gonna stay – and we ended up in Mt Hood & The Columbia River Gorge area.

Day 1

 After we nearly hiked 3miles we realized the path didn’t seem so clear anymore. We were hopeful that the path would show back up again, and then decided to throw  in the towel  and head back to the car.  Once doing so we noticed a sign saying that the bridge was down and we could not cross the river to get to the waterfalls we were attempting to hike to.  Opps! Ha.  It just made the next hike even more rewarding:-)

Made a pit stop at the local bar for food…and then it was on to location no.2Tamanawas Falls

Day 2 : Painted Hills

After spending some time in the hills, we grabbed some food in town and headed back to enjoy a fire in our cabin.

Day 3 : Bday gifts and more sightseeing awaits:)Smith Rock

Tumalo Falls

Day 4 :Home

The drive home-  Just as beautiful as the drive here.  We did make a pit stop in Portland, which was a nice addition before going home.   All in all, my birthday celebration was filled with love, adventure, excitement, joy, fresh air, new discoveries, and new memories with my wee little family.  Felt very blessed!
